"My own scientific journey can be traced back to my experience with the Science Talent Search, which profoundly shaped who I am today. Participating in and becoming a winner of STS gave me the confidence to dedicate my life to science and the pursuit of inventing medicines that improve people’s lives. Today, Regeneron helps millions of people around the world facing serious diseases, which is a testament to what is possible when young scientific talent is nurtured. We are renewing our commitment to STS because we see in these students that same potential to transform our world, and we eagerly await their future contributions to science and humanity.”

"At Regeneron, our success has always been driven by a deep belief in science and the people behind it. This renewed, long-term investment in the Regeneron Science Talent Search — alongside our support for many other STEM education programs — reflects our confidence in the extraordinary potential of young scientists and our responsibility to help cultivate the curiosity, rigor and leadership that will shape the future of scientific discovery.”

In a world facing unprecedented challenges and limitless possibilities, we believe it’s critical to elevate, motivate and celebrate the next generation of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) leaders. We must help them be nothing short of extraordinary.
That’s why we’re extending our title sponsorship of the Regeneron Science Talent Search (STS) for a second decade, continuing our partnership with Society for Science (the Society) to support the United States’ oldest and most prestigious science and mathematics competition for high school seniors.
Since the beginning of this enduring sponsorship — now spanning 20 years — we’ve engaged and inspired more than 20,000 of the nation’s top young scientists, recognized 3,000 as Regeneron scholars, and awarded over $31 million in prizes.
Regeneron is also the title sponsor of the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), the world’s largest high school science competition. The renewed sponsorship brings our total STS and ISEF investment, from 2017 to 2036, to more than $300 million. These sponsorships are among the many longstanding programs and partnerships we support under our STEM-Fueled banner
A Personal Connection
The transformative power of an experience like STS is evident in the extraordinary achievements of the competition’s alumni: two Fields Medals, 13 Nobel Prizes, 23 MacArthur Foundation Fellowships, 11 National Medals of Science and eight Breakthrough Prizes.
In fact, Regeneron co-Founders Len Schleifer and George Yancopoulos are among the esteemed innovators whose careers were propelled by STS. Both are alumni of the competition — Len competed in 1970, and George was a top winner in 1976.
“It’s because of what the Science Talent Search meant to me — and also my longtime partner and co-Founder here at Regeneron, Len Schleifer — that we decided to take on the sponsorship of the Science Talent Search,” said George.
George says his high school STS experience profoundly shaped the success he would ultimately achieve.
“Participating in and becoming a winner of STS gave me the confidence to dedicate my life to science and the pursuit of inventing medicines that improve people’s lives. Today, Regeneron helps millions of people around the world facing serious diseases, which is a testament to what is possible when young scientific talent is nurtured.
Added Len, "This renewed, long-term investment in the Regeneron Science Talent Search — alongside our support for many other STEM education programs — reflects our confidence in the extraordinary potential of young scientists and our responsibility to help cultivate the curiosity, rigor and leadership that will shape the future of scientific discovery.”
