What this video on our responsibility strategy and new goals

At Regeneron, everything we do starts with science. Science is how we improve lives. Science is how we navigate our way through complexity. And when science is practiced with integrity and applied with intention, it is inherently responsible — fueling sustainable innovation.

“Responsibility, done right, isn’t something you fit around the edges of a growing company. It’s part of how you grow.”

Delivering on what we set out to do

In 2020, we launched responsibility goals in areas where our company could have the greatest impact. We achieved — and in many cases surpassed — nearly all of them, all while our business was growing quickly and as the world continuously shifted. Read about our progress in our 2025 Responsibility Report.

“Regeneron’s corporate responsibility strategy isn’t an add-on; it is core to how we operate. Our approach leverages our unique skills and resources to improve the health of people, communities and the environment, while also strengthening our business so we can continue to serve patients in the long run.”

So, what’s next?

Completing our 2025 goals isn’t the finish line. It’s the moment to ask how we can raise the bar.

To find the answer, we brought together colleagues from across the business to examine how we affect the world and how the world affects us. The result? New responsibility goals focused on advancing our mission to improve lives, with ethics and integrity woven throughout.

Naturally, our strategy leads with science. We will continue to apply innovation to deliver groundbreaking medicines. And, through the Regeneron Genetics Center®, we’re committing to sequencing 10 million samples and integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and big data tools to advance drug discovery and digital health solutions.

“At Regeneron, we believe in using the power of science to help patients in need. In line with this philosophy, we are committed to gathering and utilizing data responsibly.”

We’re focused on access so we can help get our medicines to the people who need them most — improving cancer care in underserved communities, with an initial focus on skin cancers, partnering with patient groups and professional societies to address unmet needs, and ensuring low- and lower-middle-income countries continue to have rapid, free access to our Ebola treatment.

We are dedicated to fostering the next generation of scientific leaders and treating people and communities with care. Our goals related to people are designed to deliver impact, striving to increase student participation in STEM competitions, achieve a 20% increase in leadership roles filled through internal promotion, and expand our skills-based volunteer opportunities. As a leading biotech, we are committed to using technology responsibly to deliver our mission to improve lives.

“Culture is how our values become visible in our work. When we get it right, individuals thrive, teams collaborate, and we deliver better results — because our values and our mission are one and the same.”

We’re also caring for the planet. With a mission to improve lives, we believe it is our responsibility to protect the ecosystems essential to health. We’ve committed to source 100% of our purchased electricity from certified renewable energy sources (a goal we aim to achieve five years earlier than initially planned). We’re targeting zero waste-to-landfill for Regeneron-owned sites and ensuring 75% of our suppliers have greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets across Scopes 1, 2 and 3.

“A favorite saying I learned as a farm kid in Michigan is: ‘We do not inherit the land from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children.’ IOPS has established some phenomenal programs — from recycling and apiaries to tree preservation — but we still have a long way to go as we tackle more complex challenges, such as biodegradable auto-injectors and reducing single-use bioreactor waste. Protecting our environment is core to IOPS because the Earth — the source of everything we do — needs medicine too.”

Charting the path forward

Our 2025 results are evidence. Our 2030 goals are the next promise. And our colleagues — the brilliant, curious, deeply motivated people who make up our global team — are the reason we’ll keep delivering.
