VelociMouse®

To understand the function of a gene, we create a mouse in which that gene has been deleted or modified. VelociMouse technology offers time and cost-saving advantages over other technologies that are used to create genetically modified mice.

VelociMouse technology enables the immediate generation of genetically altered mice directly from modified embryonic stem (ES) cells created by VelociGene, thereby avoiding the need to generate and breed chimeras (mice derived from a combination of modified and unmodified ES cells). This technology is faster and less expensive than other approaches currently being used.

VelociMouse technology also enables the rapid creation of mice in which multiple modifications have been made in the same ES cells. This approach greatly reduces or eliminates extensive crossbreeding of mice that alters one gene at a time.
